Delta South

Ian Paton has represented Delta South as an MLA since 2017.

Ian has over 30 years of experience running and owning a dairy farm and farm auction business. He was elected as a Delta Councillor in 2010, where he chaired key committees such as the Agricultural Advisory Committee and the Dikes and Drainage Committee. As an MLA, Ian has served on the Select Standing Committees on Health and Agriculture, Fish and Food, and has been the Shadow Minister for Agriculture and Food.

Ian is deeply involved in his community, having served as the past president of the East Delta Community Hall Society and as a volunteer firefighter with Hall 4. He has also contributed to various local organizations, including the Delta Hospital Foundation, REACH Child and Youth Development Society, and the Delta Farmland and Wildlife Trust.
